Trying to create interest for something no one’s ever heard of before is really freaking hard. I knew it would be when I started. And all these years later I’m still always talking about the Lucia Light First-Timer Experience.
I’ve been offering Lucia Light sessions for well over five years now—ever since it helped me when dealing with the leftover physical, emotional, and mental effects of cancer and chemotherapy. But my journey with the light actually started in early 2017. A friend’s mom introduced me to it, and I remember being surprised—because during that first session, for the first time since chemo, I didn’t notice my nerve pain. My neuropathy didn’t magically disappear, of course, but for once, something distracted me enough that I wasn’t focused on the discomfort. And nothing else had ever really done that.
The Session That Changed Everything
After a few sessions, I began to notice something else too: my thoughts. There was this one moment I still remember clearly—a thought that came up out of nowhere: “Everything I need to heal and get better, I already have and already am.” That was so wildly unlike the usual soundtrack in my head at the time that I grabbed onto it. I decided to believe it. As nutty as that may sound, that became a turning point for me.
Unlike yoga, fitness classes, or even things like Reiki, the Lucia Light isn’t something most people have heard of. There’s no category for it. It’s not a therapy, not a drug, not a supplement. It just doesn’t slot neatly into anything.
What Even Is the Lucia Light First-Timer Experience?
And let’s be real—when people do hear “flashing lights,” they usually assume it’s going to be irritating or overwhelming. Not something deeply relaxing, expansive, or peaceful. But that assumption couldn’t be further from the truth.
I knew going into this that it was going to be a challenge. I mean—who am I to try and help introduce something totally new to the world, to Vancouver?
But honestly… you feel so good, and sleep so well after a session, I couldn’t not share it.
Over 500 People Later…
I’ve now worked with over 510 people. That might not be big numbers by startup standards, but to me? That’s a lot. And I’m so grateful for every confused-but-curious person who said yes.
People describe the experience in all kinds of ways. I’ve had clients say it feels like flying through the Matrix. One person pointed at the light and said, “There’s joy in there.” Some who live with depression tell me it’s the only time they feel like they get a break from the constant looped thinking. It doesn’t cure anything, but it gives you space. A break. A moment of relief. And nearly everyone tells me they sleep like a rock after.
The best part? You don’t need to keep coming back week after week to get something out of it. Even one session can shift something meaningful. You’ll feel it. You’ll know.
That’s why I offer a First-Timer Experience—so you can find a level of light that works best for you and see how your mind and body respond. Some people use it after a rough patch—like a string of crappy sleep, extra stress at work, or right before an exam. Others come once a month, or once a week, to stay grounded. It’s about what works for you.
Nervous? Try: The Lucia Light First-Timer Experience
And if you’re nervous to try it, know this: the First-Timer Experience gives you the option of trying all three levels of light—gentle, medium, and strong. But you don’t have to try them all. Think of it like going outside on an overcast day. One person might want sunglasses; another doesn’t mind the brightness. Everyone reacts to light differently. So if you try the gentle level and decide that’s enough for you, you can stop there. No pressure, no charge for the full session if you don’t continue. It has to feel right.
So until the Lucia Light gets the recognition it deserves, I’ll be over here… designing my own magazine covers like it’s totally normal.
And honestly? Doing this solo for over five years has not been easy. Half the time, I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. I mean, running a business is hard enough when you’re offering something people already understand—like yoga or massage or therapy. But when you’re introducing something completely unfamiliar and trying to run the whole show yourself? It’s a lot. I’m learning as I go, one messy, meaningful step at a time.
