In my early 30s, I survived late-stage colon cancer. And the thing about cancer is—even when you survive it, you don’t just “go back to normal. I never expected to find relief through something as unconventional as light, but when I discovered it, i knew my personal healing journey was forever changed.
The treatments ended, but they left behind a body I didn’t recognize. I had my life, but I wasn’t sure what to do with it. My body had been through hell and was still dealing with nerve pain that seemed to have no off switch. Exhaustion was my default state. The world kept moving like nothing had happened, but I felt stuck between two versions of myself: the person I was before and whoever I was supposed to be now.
People told me meditation could help.
People told me meditation could help. And I wanted it to. They said, ‘Just sit and breathe.’ I heard, ‘Just sit and think about everything that’s ever gone wrong in your life at the same time. When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, when everything feels like too much, how are you supposed to just sit there and breathe? I felt like I was failing at something that was supposed to be good for me, and that only made things worse.
Then I found the Lucia Light, and for the first time in years, I felt an actual sense of relief. Not because my pain magically disappeared, but because my mind finally had a place to rest. Instead of fighting my thoughts, I could simply experience them differently. It wasn’t a numbing-out kind of calm—it was a feeling of being more like myself again. It was the kind of relief that makes you realize just how long you’ve been holding your breath.
That was the moment I knew—if this could help me, someone who had been through hell, then other people needed to experience it too. But I didn’t start RE\:MIND because I thought the light was the only answer. I started it because everyones personal healing journey looks different. What works for one person won’t work for another. What worked for me five years ago might not be what works today. And that’s okay. The important thing is having options—having something that meets you where you’re at instead of forcing you into a box.
Personal healing journey
Because here’s the thing: healing isn’t just about what you do—it’s about what makes sense for you. For some people, meditation means sitting cross-legged in silence, for others, it means breathwork, movement, or sound therapy. For me, it was Lucia Light meditation. Not because it erased my pain, but because it gave me space to breathe without trying so hard. It gave me access to a different kind of stillness—one that didn’t require me to fight my own brain.
And maybe that’s what you need, too. Not necessarily the light itself, but the permission to explore what works for you. To stop forcing yourself into methods that don’t fit. To try something new, even if you’ve convinced yourself that “nothing works.” Because sometimes, just knowing there’s one more thing to try—that alone can make all the difference.
That’s why I keep sharing this story. Not because I think everyone needs to try the light, but because I know what it’s like to feel stuck. I know what it’s like to have tried everything and still feel like you’re treading water. And I know how life-changing it is to find something that finally clicks.
If you’re looking for something different to add to your personal healing journey—something that meets you where you are, the Lucia Light could be it.
